We do not provide an evening meals service at present as locally there are some fine local eateries. This means you can pick and choose according to not only your taste, but your budget!
100 yards up the esplanade to your left as you leave towards the sea front is The Sea Shanty, which is licensed, and provides wholesome food from only £5 each (correct as at 2008). Large menu, everything from fish and chips (recommended!) to curry. They also offer a children's menu. You can see a page about this establishment here (all links open new windows) This outlet also sells take-away food, ice creams and drinks etc.
Next door to the Sea Shanty is "The Start Bay Inn", a Heavitree Pub, offering the usual range of beers wines and spirits (including real ale). This is a pub that specialises in sea food and has both indoor and outdoor seating areas, where the outdoor area overlooks the sea.
For a snack you can always pop to Torcross Stores / Post Office, which is 200 yards up the road.
If you take a five minute drive towards Kingsbridge you will find on the main road at Stokenham "The Church House Inn". If you turn up the road that runs to the right of it, at the top of the short hill you will find "The Tradesmans Arms"(recommended!).
Five minutes in the other direction, take the left turn to Slapton, and in the village you will find "The Tower Inn" and "The Queens Arms".
About 10 minutes drive away from Waterside House, or a 10 minute walk south along the beach (when the tide is out!) you will find Beesands, a peaceful yet working fishing village and ''The Cricket Inn'' pub restaurant (recommended!).
All the above establishments are recommended and offer good food.
There are also many fine restaurants and pubs in the local villages and nearby towns of Kingsbridge and Dartmouth.
